Grand National Teams

The GNT begins its cycle in September, which is the point at which members are rated for their Flights, and ends with teams qualifying to go to the National Finals (usually a 4- or 5-day event) the following year at the Summer NABC. 

District 8 Grand National Team selection occurs in a

Flighted Knockout Team Event held the first weekend in May.

  • The winning teams of each Flight are entitled to compete in the Grand National Team Finals, usually a 5-day event at the summer NABC. 
  • The winning team in each flight will receive a travel award from the District Board to play in the national finals in July.

  • Any team of four, five or six District 8 members can enter in one of four separate flights:

 Saturday, April 30:   1:00 & TBA  -- 2-session qualifying

♠  Sunday, May 1:   10:30 am (or TBA) -- Knockout finals

Note:  Depending on how many teams are entered in a flight, the event may be completed in one day (Saturday only).

Trips to Toronto -- and regional-rated gold points -- are offered in the 2011 District 8 finals of this national team event. Any team of four, five or six District 8 members can enter in one of four separate flights:

The winning team in each flight will receive a travel award from the District Board to play in the national finals in Toronto ON in July.

Your flight eligibility is determined by the number of masterpoints you held on September 1, 2010. 

Directions:  Riverton IL is about 10 miles east of Springfield IL. From I-72, take exit 108 (Overpass Road) and go north to the stop sign at Old Route 36. Turn right (east) onto Old Route 36 and go about 1/4 mile, then turn right onto Old Decatur Road. The Eagles Club is on the left.

    Championship flight: Open, unlimited

    Flight A: 0 - 5000 MP

    Flight B: 0-2000 MP

    Flight C: 0-500 Non-Life Masters

    Your flight eligibility is determined by the number of masterpoints you held on September 1.
