Twice each year you can earn SILVER points,
merely by playing in the local club games.
All registered club games this week can award sectional silver points to winners and runners-up in three flights.
In addition to the silver-point section awards at each game, each session will be scored across the District for overall awards.
All masterpoints awarded are silver!
DISTRICT 8 STaC CONDITIONS OF CONTEST
All games submitted for the District Wide Open Pairs will be stratified. Strata are:
A – 2000+
B – 750 – 2000
C – 0 – 750
Stratify by average for games submitted for the district wide event. Stand alone games (not using the above stratifications) carry a “side game” rating and will not be included in the main event. All masterpoints awarded will be Silver.
Use the ACBL's official database of masterpoint holdings after 1/10/2017. The DIC may adjust stratifications if an earlier version is used.
Clubs may hold a ONE or TWO SESSION SWISS TEAM EVENT and may, at the local director’s discretion, use the above strata or adjust the strata to achieve three teams in the lowest strata. Clubs may hold games open only by invitation or limited by masterpoints. Stratifications are determined by the club director. All such games will be rated as stand alone games.
Stratified limited games may be combined at the discretion of the DIC, thus similar 99er games at multiple sites could get larger awards for those in the overalls.
OPEN GAMES with 6 or more pairs will QUALIFY FOR DISTRICT OVERALL RANKING.
Playing directors in STaC games and their partners are ineligible to receive overall STaC masterpoint (silver point) awards, but are eligible to receive section awards. (ACBL resolution passed at the 2013 St. Louis board meeting.)
Disputes/rulings not handled at the club level will be handled by the DIC where all rulings are final. Should such a dispute arise, the director of the club game may contact the DIC, Peter Wilke at 414-861-7113. If in doubt about a ruling, club directors are encouraged to contact the DIC prior to making a ruling.
District 8 will not be using hand records.
