  Because Board Members are elected at the October Sectional, the goals and such tend to be oriented to November through October (our fiscal year is actually Oct 1 - Sept 30)-- in other words, when the newly elected members are part of the decision-making process. Obviously, many goals and actions are perpetuated. Overlap may occur.

  2007-2008: Unit 143 is interested in promoting and expanding the playing of duplicate bridge in the St. Louis area, especially at its sectional and regional tournaments. To help accomplish this goal it is desirable to teach players who are new to bridge and/or duplicate bridge to play duplicate bridge. Grants to fund appropriate bridge teaching proposals and projects which promote the above objectives may be awarded, but there is limited funding.  Read More...

• Current Board Meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month, skipping August, at Olivette Community Center, room 6, at 7 pm.  The next meeting is July 9, 2008.  Approved minutes are posted as soon as possible.  All Unit members are welcome at any board meeting; just show up.

•  Board members may serve no more than three consecutive 3-year terms, and no more than 9 consecutive years.

  in June, the nominating committee ordinarily proposes a slate sufficient to fill exactly these 4 slots.  If you want to be considered, please let a board member know.

  Any member may run for election to become a board member, without dealing with the nominating committee.  Petitions for additional nominees should be submitted to a Board member by August 18, 2008.  Click here for further info.  If no other candidate is proffered, then no election will be held and the committee's candidates will be considered elected at the October Sectional.
