I grew up in the Midwest, mostly in Ottumwa, Iowa.  I have lived a lot of places because I was a military wife for over 25 years. I moved to St. Louis in 1986 after living in Germany for over four years.  I have three children all living here in St. Louis and two wonderful grandchildren.

I have been a teacher most of my adult life…all levels from Pre-School, Elementary, Middle School and teaching teachers. I grew up playing every board game and card game out there, especially pinochle.  I never learned bridge from my parents when I was young because they square danced and played bridge and I thought they were nerdy. I sure regret that too!  Once I retired from teaching I decided to take classes and learn how to play this game! Wow!  I have made so many friends through bridge!  I love the game and yet I feel like I’m working on a doctorate degree in bridge!  It’s a humbling, amazing and frustrating game but the very best part are the people!  It feels so good to be around interesting, curious and intelligent friends who are still learning.  This game has made my retirement so fun.  Someone told me that “Going to the Bridge Center is like Disney World for Old Folks”!
