I am glad to serve on the Unit 143 board as membership chairman and in other areas, as needed. I have always appreciated the challenging, rewarding, and fun adventures of the game of bridge. I started learning Goren bridge from my mother when I was sixteen. Through the years, I played social bridge off and on -- mostly off! Around the year 2000, I was introduced to duplicate and was immediately hooked. I became a life master in 2002 and silver master at a tournament in Albuquerque in 2010.
I have a BS degree from the University of Tennessee. I married the year I received my degree and soon began a family with four children. Those next few years were spent with many children activities, volunteer work, and tennis.
When my youngest started school, I began a part-time job teaching in the St. Louis public schools in a program called “Springboard To Learning” where I designed classes using my skills in piano and guitar to teach American history through music. Later, I received an Enrolled Agent license with the IRS and worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block for 20 years. Seven of those years, I was an office supervisor.
